Dear Friends,
Next Sunday, 7th November, at 11.00 am, our popular All Saints ‘Messy Church’ will be meeting once more in the All Saints’ Hall, (Selborne Road entrance, please). Please do try your best to be there for 11.00 am so that we can make a prompt start. We realise that some families like to keep as much as possible of the afternoon free for their other plans. A prompt start means that everyone is happy. Isn’t that what we all want!
As always, we shall be keeping your health and safety uppermost in our minds. So, we shall continue to take every reasonable measure to protect everyone who attends Messy Church. For this reason, we ask for your active co-operation, please, in ensuring that, before every person enters the Hall, the hand sanitiser stationed at the door is used – and again as each of you leaves the Hall! Of course, thorough hand washing remains of the utmost importance too.
We have been very busy planning more great crafts for the children to get messy with on this month’s theme, which is –
‘GLADNESS AND GENEROSITY’
‘Gladness and generosity’ is the next in the series of 10 Holy Habits we are learning about this year, so the children will then be able to mark it off on the 10 point stars they each made last month.
Generosity is closely related to ‘gladness’, or a sense of gratitude for what we have been given by God. Generosity has nothing to do with material wealth: very poor people can be extremely generous – and some wealthy people can be quite miserly! So, we shall be learning about God’s generosity towards us and how it can overflow into generosity to others around us.
As ‘Messy Church is for all ages, it is a whole family occasion and we hope to see lots of children and grown-ups present to learn more about why this theme is so very important to everyone.
We cannot promise you fireworks this November, but we can promise more fun, fellowship and hot food to enjoy. This month’s menu will be deliciously fresh sausage baps (or cheese if anyone would prefer), followed by ginger cake (with or without custard). Food is a key element of our gathering together, of course, so we do ask you to try your best to stay with us for that sharing experience.
Do please make a special effort to come along and join in the usual fun, fellowship, and friendship. We are looking forward to welcoming you.
